Bonna Rizalina Valenton Bambilla is a Digital Pedagogy Expert and Sustainable Tourism Advocate who aspires to bridge the gap between technology and hospitality education. Raised in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines by farmers, her academic and professional foundation is strongly rooted in the Philippines. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BSc in Tourism Management, Bonna began her academic career as a lecturer at Far Eastern University. She subsequently relocated to Germany to deepen her expertise, advancing to a Master’s in Hospitality Management and pursuing an MSc in Data Science. Currently a full-time Lecturer and academic author, Bonna is a pioneer in digital learning, actively developing AI-powered apps to enhance student engagement and accessibility. Her drive for environmental responsibility led her to undertake the Diploma in Climate-Friendly Travel through SUNx Malta in collaboration with ITS Malta. After years of teaching and navigating the operational complexities of the global tourism sector, Bonna realized that to truly overcome industry challenges, she needed to be an active part of the solution. She is dedicated to fostering a better world through tourism by applying her data-driven insights to sustainable practices. Proudly stepping into the role as the first SUNx Chapter Leader for the Philippines, Bonna aims to leverage her deep Filipino heritage and global technological expertise to empower local communities and champion climate-friendly travel solutions across the archipelago.
