Shrestha Paul
Shrestha PaulIndia
My journey in the Tourism industry has been a remarkable adventure, rooted in my pursuit of knowledge and passion for sustainable travel. It all began with a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Administration, where I laid the foundation for a fulfilling career. As a Communication Intern at the Pacific Asia Travel Association, I gained invaluable insights into the intricacies of the industry, honing my skills in marketing, public relations, and event coordination. It was here that I realized the potential of tourism to promote cultural exchange and environmental conservation. My dedication paid off when I earned a scholarship to study for a Climate-Friendly Travel Diploma, through SUNx Malta in collaboration with ITS Malta; furthering my commitment to sustainable tourism practices. This experience has not only enriched my knowledge but also solidified my dedication to shaping a more responsible and eco-conscious tourism sector. Climate friendly travel holds immense importance for me when considering the future of travel. My motivation to build people power and fight for climate justice stems from a deep desire to create a future of travel that is truly climate friendly.

Shraddha
ShraddhaIndia
Shraddha is an architect, slow traveller, and the Founder and CEO of Gramiyo, a social enterprise based in India, building village tourism as a force for rural regeneration. With over a decade of travelling and living through villages across India, including national-level trekking, cycling, and caving expeditions with the Youth Hostels Association of India; she has come to believe that every village holds everything humanity needs: food, clothing, shelter, and a living relationship with nature and indigenous knowledge. Her work is rooted in this conviction, that tourism, when led by community and grounded in place, can restore rather than deplete. Through Gramiyo, she co-creates livelihood pathways with rural communities in crafts, local food, cultural heritage, and experiential tourism, making the village itself the destination. A fellow of the SBI Youth for India and the Women Leaders India Fellowship, she brings deep field experience and entrepreneurial thinking to one of India's most underserved development frontiers. She is currently enrolled in the CFT Diploma at SUNx Malta, where she is expanding the Climate Friendly Travel framework into regenerative, community-based tourism across rural India.
