- Identify and develop a locally initiated project. This could be solar electrification of villages, water sanitation, waste reduction, or any number of other areas related to increasing the Sustainability of Tourism in the country.
Meet the Chapter Leader
Brenda González Peraza is a tourism professional from Cuba, holding a Bachelor’s in Tourism and a Master’s in Tourism Management, with specialization in sustainability, innovation, and strategic destination planning. She has experience in operational management, data analysis, responsible product development, and projects focused on climate change adaptation and community resilience. Her work integrates environmental responsibility with economic viability and evidence‑based decision‑making, aligned with the principles of Climate Friendly Travel. She is currently in the internship stage of the CFT program, strengthening her skills in low‑carbon and resilience‑driven tourism strategies. From Cuba, she aims to build a CFT community in her country and across Latin America and the Caribbean, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in the region. Her purpose is to contribute to a tourism model that protects the planet and ensures a safer, more conscious future for children and the generations who will inherit our destinations.
